I was visiting a boutique last week and noticed something interesting: From a distance, the shop looked beautiful and clean. But as I got closer, the jewelry display almost vanished. It was all "safe" minimalist studs and tiny chains. It lacked a "hook" to stop me in my tracks.

The 70/30 Reality Check
Think of your inventory as a team.
  • 70% are your "Daily Workers": These are the classic pearl drops and gold hoops. They pay the rent.
